Under the motto “We automate molds”, ZAHORANSKY Automation & Molds GmbH will be presenting its innovative solutions for the production of plastic medical products at Fakuma 2024. The range includes production solutions from mold making and automation, particularly for primary packaging (pre-filled syringes, vials), drug delivery (inhalation, injectors and glucose measurement. ZAHORANSKY offers everything from a single source: from consulting during product development to the manufacture of injection molds and the installation of highly automated no-human-touch systems. These solutions increase process reliability and efficiency while reducing costs, personnel and resources.
One example of these innovations is an automation solution for the two-component injection molding of applicator caps for digital diabetes glucose measurement. The compact system with minimal mold opening and a high degree of automation ensures greater efficiency, space and cost savings. The screw thread of the caps, which is unscrewed using an innovative technique, was particularly challenging. Here, ZAHORANSKY relies on the Z.WARP move tool, which optimizes the injection molding process through precise gauge preparation. The finished caps are removed in parallel by a six-axis robot, which significantly shortens the cycle time.
Additionally, the Z.SIROC quality control module is used. The robot guides the caps to the camera, where they are measured and inspected. Bad parts are sorted out, which minimizes the workload for staff and optimizes quality assurance.
